Portrait

Jens Troester conducts Stravinsky‘s Le sacre du printemps with the same ease and stylistic assurance as Mozart‘s Kleine Nachtmusik. He is equally at home with Beethoven and Brahms as he is with Carmina Burana. Rousing interpretations of Wagner and Strauss stand alongside his infectiously exuberant readings of operas by Rossini, Verdi, and Puccini.

His extensive repertoire ranges from Baroque to Contemporary, and includes opera, operetta, musical, and ballet, as well as the latest rock and pop music. Recently, he has added film music to his national and international appearances.

A precise and dependable technique that combines musical intelligence with expressiveness are trademarks of his conducting, continuously drawing the highest praise from audiences and critics alike. Musicians appreciate the quiet and respectful manner with which he is able to realize his artistic vision.

In addition to his work as conductor he is also a composer, arranger, and writer. In his spare time he likes to draw, and loves skiing in the winter.
